316 Stainless Steel is a premium material choice when corrosion resistance in demanding environments is critical.
With a chromium content of 16%-18% and an increased nickel content of 10%-14%, 316 Stainless Steel is often considered to be an upgraded version of 304 or 18-8 Stainless Steel. The addition of molybdenum (2%-3%) also improves corrosion resistance. Especially in environments containing chlorides (e.g., seawater, brines, or industrial chemicals).
